What is the meaning of life?
Not feeling suicidal or anything, but recent events have set me thinking about what it's all about. Is it about learning physics? Or aiming to become a 20 kilobucks/month tenured full professor (ie. my boss)? Is it becoming another cog in the wheel? In particular, a cog in the homo economical system of singapore? Or perhaps getting married and give unborn kids the gift of life so that they too can ponder this point? Or end up as cogs as well? Or what?
Please, feel free to leave your take on this.

I think becoming a professor is pretty cool. It's not all about earning money. It's a... one of the more important cogs in the wheel? =D
Ah, the quarter-life crisis. Trust me, it doesn't get that much better in grad school.
Maybe what you need to do is discover your passion. Maybe what you're doing isn't quite it. Yet.
i'm already 25. do people expect to live till 100 and enjoy the last 25 years along the way? i think in terms of quality not quantity it would be more appropriate to call it third-life or even half-life crisis. But maybe crisis is too strong a word.
i was going thru the same thoughts a few months ago when work was shitty (well, actually the search for the meaning of our existence never quite disappears) and kept asking myself the same questions: what i'm doing.. why i'm doing this all for...
i don't think we'll ever know. so i just try to live life as best as i can without causing too much pain to anyone.
"give unborn kids the gift of life so that they too can ponder this point?"
that line is a pretty good one to use to put people off having children. well, atheists and agnostics anyway.
You could go do something that will make the world a better place before you die.
You could love, have kids, love your kids, experience all that family warmth and just be contented at that.
You could earn a shit-load of money and buy fast cars and big houses and bask in your wealth.
Just make sure you've thought about it, that's what's more pertinent now.
